Custom WordPress solution developed for a real estate company to simplify property management within an existing Elementor Pro website. The project included a custom post type for properties, structured property data using Advanced Custom Fields Pro (ACF Pro), and a custom plugin to display amenities stored in ACF repeater fields. The solution enabled the client to manage and publish property listings efficiently while preserving the existing website design and workflow
What began as a request to expand an existing website quickly evolved into creating a structured property management system that allowed a real estate company in Cincinnati to showcase its listings while keeping content management simple for the team.
The client already had a WordPress website built with Elementor Pro, but there was no efficient way to publish or manage property listings. Each property required its own set of structured information, and manually building every page with static content would have made updates time-consuming and inconsistent as the inventory grew.
The goal was to integrate a scalable solution without disrupting the existing website or its design. Instead of rebuilding the site, I extended its functionality by implementing a custom post type dedicated to properties, allowing the client to manage each listing independently while preserving the Elementor-based workflow they were already familiar with.
To simplify data management, I integrated Advanced Custom Fields Pro (ACF Pro) to create a structured editing experience. Property details such as pricing, location, specifications, images, and additional information could be entered through intuitive custom fields, making it easy for non-technical users to publish and update listings without modifying page layouts.
One of the project’s unique requirements involved displaying property amenities stored in an ACF repeater field. At the time, I couldn’t find a lightweight free solution that met the project’s needs, so I developed a custom WordPress plugin specifically for this purpose. The plugin rendered the repeater field dynamically on the frontend, allowing amenities to be displayed in a clean, reusable format while integrating seamlessly with the existing Elementor templates.
The solution was designed to fit naturally into the client’s existing website, extending its capabilities without introducing unnecessary complexity or requiring major structural changes.
The final result was a flexible property management system that empowered the real estate team to create, edit, and maintain property listings efficiently through WordPress while preserving the site’s existing design and improving the overall content management experience.
